Torture has been illegal in this country since the 1860's to not prosecute this sets a horrible precedent. If Obama wants to then stop the distraction he can pardon them.

Seems rather absurd to include waterboarding in the training of US military.

Regardless of any amount of training, if an enemy ever captured them and subjected them to REAL waterboarding in a place where they KNEW they were not getting out alive, they would all to a man give up whatever information was being asked for by their captors.

"Japs" is considered a racist term in 2009. I know you probably know that, but some folks are offended by that term.

In September 2002 it was known that waterboarding was at least being considered, and not one member of the intelligence committee had the guts to call the CIA out. It would have cost any politician the election.


Is sleep deprivation torture? Was allowing a caterpillar to be Abu Zubaydah's cellie torture?

The ones that attacked Pearl Harbor and the BDM were misled by their government. Most of the Pearl Harbor participants were outraged when they found out it was a sneak attack. They were dishonored, and had no idea until the war was over. In any event, racism of any type is unacceptable. Sort of like torture. We should put ourselves above calling another race in slang or racist terms. It says a lot about who we are.

In September 2002 no politician gave a rat's ass about civil liberties when it came to detainees. To care would have meant a permanent trip to their districts 2 months later. Politics is a filthy game, played by dirty people.
